A dog helped guide a Florida deputy to the scene where a woman fell while they were on a walk together, according to the local sheriff's office
Deputy Devon Miller spotted the dog, named Eeyore, shortly after leaving the missing woman's home
"Oh Eeyore, you’re such a good boy!" the injured woman told the dog while she and the deputy waited for more help to arrive
An elderly woman found herself injured after taking a tumble while walking her son’s dog — but luckily, her four-legged friend helped save the day.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) said the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, Sept. 25, according to the Bradenton Herald.
The 86-year-old woman fell while walking her son’s dog Eeyore in the area of Destin, Fla., officials shared in a post on Facebook. After she didn't return home, authorities said her “distraught husband” called for help, “concerned about his missing wife.”
“She never takes more than 10 or 15 minutes. It’s almost an hour now!” he told Deputy Devon Miller in body camera footage that was shared by the OCSO.
After getting a brief description of the dog, the deputy returned to her vehicle — and it wasn't long until she spotted the pup while driving down the road.
“Hi baby! Where’s your mama?” the deputy exclaimed as she pulled over and hopped out of her car to pat the panting dog.
But Eeyore wasted no time, quickly leading the deputy across a property to where the injured woman lay on a sidewalk near a golf course.
After spotting her, the deputy started to run. “I’ve got you ma’am!” she shouted as she approached.
The officer then asked the woman to explain “what happened” as the dog panted and paced nearby.

According to Deputy Miller, the woman was “alert and conscious” upon her arrival. She called for assistance before telling the woman how the dog came to her rescue in the video.
“I was in front of that house right there, and then the dog ran up to me,” the deputy explained.
The woman seemed stunned. “And the dog brought you?” she asked, later confirming that she was the canine’s grandmother. “He wouldn’t leave! He kept coming back to me!”
Both the injured woman and the deputy praised the dog as they waited for more help to arrive. “Good boy!” the officer said again and again.
