A leftist preacher in Kansas running for the United States Senate is the target of mockery for blowing it when he tried to identify a “mistake” in the Bible.

“Always great when a ‘pastor’ displays a full-on lack of any understanding of, you know, the Bible.” charged Not the Bee.

The blunder comes from Adam Hamilton, of Resurrection, a United Methodist Church that is part of an organized religious group that not only is known for far-left, but even extreme-left, ideologies.

Here he is explaining the “mistake”:

Adam Hamilton, the frontrunner for Kansas’s Democrat Senate primary, is a Methodist pastor who believes the Bible is full of errors. In this 2022 sermon, his top example is: Luke & Matthew give different locations for Jesus’s ascension.

He said, “I can think of hundreds [of errors], but let me just give you one. … Where did Jesus ascend to heaven from? So you do remember, right? Let me just show you on the map here. In Luke’s gospel, Jesus ascends to heaven from the Mount of Olives by Jerusalem. In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus ascends to heaven from Galilee. … Look, there’s like 75, depending on the route, 75 to 90 miles difference between these two towns. Matthew says one, Luke says the other. They can’t both be right, so one of them is wrong.”

Not the Bee noted, “There’s just one problem with his example: It’s wrong.”

And Breitbart delivered the explanation, “Matthew actually does not provide a location for Jesus’s ascension to the Father. The gospel ends detailing Jesus giving the Great Commission on or near a mountain in Galilee, but there is no mention of the ascension. Mark also does not provide a specific location of the ascension, nor does John mention it. The Gospel of Luke, however, describes Jesus leading his followers out to Bethany, said to be on the slopes of the Mount of Olives. Acts also records Jesus’s disciples returning ‘from the mount called Olivet’ after the ascension.”

Sounds like he went to the same Bible class as James Talarico. When someone intentionally changes the meaning of a passage, they elevate their own human desires above divine truth.
