Grandview United Presbyterian Church

A historic church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently was set ablaze, and a “transgender” individual has been arrested in connection to the fire.

Grandview United Presbyterian Church was 120 years old but had been vacant and abandon for several years before burning Thursday.

Reports note a firefighter was injured battling the blaze and has been hospitalized.

Suspect Colton Jefferson Normand

Activist Andy Ngo reports the suspect is 24-year-old Colton Jefferson Normand, who uses the names “Olive” and “Raine.” Police believe Normand had been squatting on the church property. Officers had given him a verbal warning to leave the church on July 2.

Normand is charged with defiant trespass, obstruction and giving false identification to law enforcement. The man, who hails from Boise, Idaho, eventually could be charged with arson.

According to the police report, Normand has a “history of violent tendencies.” Police in Boise have an outstanding warrant for Normand for assault and battery and resisting arrest in connection with an incident in January.

A CBS report awkwardly used the pronoun “themselves” in referring to Normand, who has been considered missing from his Idaho home and described as “an endangered autistic adult.”
