It’s no secret many American lawmakers are full of noxious gas.

And now U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., is becoming the butt of numerous jokes after appearing to have loudly expressed himself with extreme flatulence on the Senate floor Tuesday.

Off The Press states: “Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) appears to hold back laughter after a fart-like sound is heard over the Senate microphone.”

The New York Post reports: “Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appeared to break wind on the floor of the chamber this week, even suppressing a light chuckle after the now-viral delivery.

“The 75-year-old was criticizing President Trump and the war in Iran when he seemed to have lost a war of his own that was brewing in his trousers, letting loose an audible fart that went out live on C-SPAN airwaves Tuesday.”

Radio host and comedy writer Rob Carson probed the expulsion on his broadcast Wednesday, doing a “deep investigative dive as to whether it actually came from his butt or perhaps from a Butt in the nearby ‘assy knoll.'”

“Did you hear about the magic fart?” Carson asked his audience. “It’s either emanating from Chuck Schumer, or from what we’ll call the ‘assy knoll,’ which could be three rows up in the Senate chamber.”

One poster on X called “Politi_Rican” even provided a thermal imaging version of the blast.

Some online blowback includes:

“That’s what you call an old fart!”

“It just shows how full of sh** he is.”

“Smartest thing he has ever said and from the most intelligent part of his anatomy.”

“Chuck Schumer talked about a war ripping America apart, but nobody expected his trousers to be the first casualty.”

“At least he finally passed something in the Senate.”

Schumer’s boomer is reminiscent of former U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell’s on-air flatulence during a 2019 interview with Chris Matthews of MSNBC’s “Hardball.”

“Chris, so far the evidence is uncontradicted that the president used taxpayer dollars to help him cheat – ” Swalwell said with a pause as the blast echoes, ” – an election.”

Swalwell forcefully denied he had dealt it, texting a BuzzFeed reporter: “It was not me!!!!!”
