One of the Secret Service agents assigned to security for Vice President JD Vance has been taken off the assignment after suspicions developed that he had leaked details of the Vance calendar to a leftist organization, MS Now.

The issue concerned details about the attitude among agents on the assignment about Vance’s personal travel schedule, according to a Daily Mail report.

Operational details on various issues had appeared in the press, sparking White House concern about safety and a potential breach of security for Vance and his family.

The name of the agent was not released.

But MS Now reported on plans for Vance to fly with his son on a Marine helicopter for a golf lesson, a plan that eventually was not carried out because of severe weather, the report said.

And the report talked about agent reactions to Vance’s travel plans for his family, because changes required them to cancel days off or change their own plans.

The report cited CNN claims that the leaks were from “people with knowledge of [Vance’s] flight plans” and “administration officials with knowledge of his schedule” as well as an “additional source with knowledge of their travel who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.”

Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn responded, “When U.S. Secret Service Special Agents choose to join a protective detail, they understand the commitment required: long hours, frequent travel, and the need for constant flexibility.”

He continued, “Nights, weekends, and holidays are part of the job. Our agents work tirelessly to ensure protectees’ safety and security, while also preserving normalcy to the extent possible. We are committed to supporting our personnel, which requires around the clock dedication and discipline. This is a job that requires absolute dedication and discipline.”

Vance’s office has issued a statement expressing gratitude for the service members “who serve our country with distinction.”

Those noticing the reporting on Vance’s entourage included the Secret Service, FBi and White House.

The report said the agent now is facing a review.

“The development comes as the Trump administration vows to crack down on what it has called ‘unauthorized disclosures’ to the press,” the report said.

At the Gateway Pundit was the charge that Vance had become “a victim of sabotage by the one of the very people sworn to protect him and his family from harm.”

The organization reported, “Back in January, the Gateway Pundit revealed that The O’Keefe Media Group released video of a Secret Service agent assigned to Vance leaking sensitive information to an undercover reporter. The agent at the center of O’Keefe’s sting, Tomas Escotto, is a Joe Biden holdover and has only been a U.S. citizen since 2018. Escotto told the O’Keefe Media Group undercover reporter details about how Vance is surrounded and revealed advanced security procedures.”
