‘National security risks’: Did Mamdani admin break the law scheduling a meeting with Iranian officials? * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

WorldNetDaily reported when the federal government was forced to step in and cancel a meeting New York City officials planned with representatives of Iran.
Now, Republicans in the House of Representatives want an investigation into the administration of Democrat socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani because of the potential the actions had to be a violation of the Logan Act.
That’s a federal law that criminalizes unauthorized private diplomacy with foreign governments intended to influence disputes with the United States, and violations can land an offender in prison.
The federal government earlier ordered that meeting planned by New York City officials to be canceled.
Mamdani doesn’t speak for America. President Trump does.

Now a report at Breitbart reveals a coalition led by Rep. Addison McDowell, R-N.C., is asking the Department of Justice to investigation Mamdani’s agenda.
“Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche received the letter on Thursday morning after it was revealed that a senior Mamdani official attempted to organize an unauthorized meeting with a high-ranking member of the Iranian regime while the country remains at war with the United States,” the report said.
Others pushing for the investigation include Reps. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., Earl Carter, R-Ga., Pat Fallon, R-Texas, Randy Fine, R-Fla., Clay Fuller. R-Ga., Pat Harrigan, R-N.C., Wesley Hunt, R-Texas, Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., Richard McCormick, R-Ga., Max Miller, R-Ohio, Riley Moore, R-W.Va., Pete Sessions, R-Texas, and Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y.
The letter said, “We write with concern about the recent actions of Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Administration. Last week, media outlets began to report Commissioner Ana María Archila, the head of the New York City Mayor’s Office for International Affairs, had scheduled a July 7 meeting with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir-Saeid Iravani.”
New York officials were to meet with Iravani, the report said, although the subject of the meeting hasn’t been revealed.
Federal government officials revealed they then had to “clarify” what was acceptable conduct for the city.
Archila reportedly had kept the plans concealed even from Mamdani.
The letter said, “As you know, negotiations with Iran are in a critical stage. Given its timing, we believe this proposed meeting may have presented significant national security risks.”
And it added, “Mayor Mamdani’s and Commissioner Archila’s actions create a clear conflict of interest with the United States’ strategic military actions in Iran and across the Middle East, warranting further examination by the Department.”
While city officials said the meeting did not “and will not” happen, Mamdani has alleged that athe meeting was from a request that came in to the mayor’s office.
McDowell told Breitbart, “The Department of Justice needs to look into Mamdani’s office and ensure they are not acting as rogue agents to the detriment of America’s national security. Mamdani does not speak for America. President Trump earned the public’s trust to ensure the safety and security of the United States.”
