‘Mr. President, come after me’: Gavin Newsom claims Trump ordered DOJ to investigate him and his wife * WorldNetDaily * by Joe Kovacs
Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday accused President Donald Trump of ordering the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate the Democrat and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom.
“They have not found a crime,” the governor said on X, “they are simply trying to find one.”
“He isn’t coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President.”
“He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history.”
“One by one, anyone who has challenged Donald Trump has ended up on his hit list,” Newsom said on video. “And today, I proudly join that list.”
Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime – they are simply trying to find one.

Newsom said Trump “can subpoena my records, you can investigate me, you can harass me, put my name on every and any enemies list you have, but leave my wife and family out of your personal vendetta.”
“To Donald Trump, this country does not belong to you. It does not belong to your cronies. And we’re going to fight your lawlessness. And we’re going to continue to remind the people of this country of your corruption.”
In his video, the governor claimed federal agents in recent days “have knocked on the doors of family friends and former employees.”
“And just in the last week, I’ve learned his campaign has reached my own home: to get me, he’s coming after my wife, Jen,” Newsom said. “A public servant. A woman who has dedicated her life to supporting women and girls.”

He likened himself to other adversaries of Trump who have faced DOJ scrutiny in the president’s second term, including former FBI Director James Comey, former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, U.S. Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“We have nothing to hide,” Gov. Newsom concluded. “Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching.”
CNN reports: “A source familiar with the matter told CNN there’s no investigation directly into Newsom, but the Eastern District of California is leading probes into people connected to him – including Jennifer Siebel Newsom over possible tax-related crimes.
“The person said that the Justice Department’s political leadership was not involved in that investigation’s origin, saying the probe had instead been prompted by whistleblower reports last year.”
Newsom’s former chief of staff, Dana Williamson, 53, pleaded guilty a month ago to federal charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud, making false statements to a federal agent and subscribing to a false tax return, CNBC reported.
