Members of Congress became livid Tuesday as a hearing about illegal aliens murdering American citizens exploded into a vicious shouting match between U.S. Reps. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., and Jamie Raskin, D-Md.
As the House Judiciary Committee was gearing up to hear testimony from victims of criminal aliens including Jessica Gorman, mother of murder victim Sheridan Gorman, Lawler told colleagues: “So while some of my colleagues may not want to hear there truth, the same outrage you feel about Renee Good and Alex Pretti, you should feel about Sheridan Gorman and Laken Riley, and every Angel Family in this country.”

Clearly angered, Raskin shouted: “I DO feel that outrage!”
“You DO NOT!” Lawler fired back. “Because if you did, you would NOT support sanctuary jurisdictions! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF! … YOU’RE A DISGRACE!”
“The same outrage you feel about Renee Good and Alex Pretti, you should feel about Sheridan Gorman, Laken Riley, and every Angel family.”

Raskin brought up the names of two citizens killed by federal ICE agents, as he replied: “Do you feel the outrage about Alex Pretti and Renee Good? You don’t belong in this committee, you should GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! … You’re FULL OF IT!”
Lawler told Raskin: “You should be ashamed of yourself for not opposing sanctuary policies that resulted in their daughter’s death.”

Aishah Hasnie of Fox News interviewed Lawler after the blow-up, saying, “I mean it’s shocking! It’s shocking that they would do this in front of a grieving mother. What happened?”
Lawler explained: “I listened to Pramila Jayapal’s outrageous opening statement, followed by Jamie Raskin in which, as Jessica Gorman just pointed out, they said, ‘We’re sorry for your loss, BUT.’
“And then they dismissed the fact that these Angel Families were here and were complaining that this is the fourth hearing that the committee is having on sanctuary policies.
“But clearly, they have learned nothing from any of these hearings because they continue to support sanctuary jurisdictions. What these idiots don’t seem to grasp is the fact that sanctuary policies are resulting in the deaths of Americans.”

He pointed out that illegal alien José Medina, the accused killer of Loyoloa University student Sheridan Gorman, had previously been arrested for shoplifting and was released back onto the streets because Chicago is a sanctuary city.

“We need to ban sanctuary cities,” Lawler stressed. “We have multiple bills to do that. Democrats refuse to support it.
“They want to allow criminal aliens to remain in this country. They refuse to cooperate between state and local officials and federal officials. It needs to stop. That’s what the Gorman family is demanding.”
