The end: City develops solution to problem of street racing, reckless driving * WorldNetDaily * by Bob Unruh

Police in Las Vegas, Nevada, are running a car ring.

They’re not stolen, by the police anyway, but it is a car ring that features some high-powered, top-performing sports cars, vehicles that previously were used for street racing, street takeovers, reckless driving and more.

And they end up as a small pile of crumpled metal.

The police have posted online a video of their program:

Sheriff Kevin McMahill said, “We just decided enough is enough.”

Dozens of arrests have been made.

And about those cars.

Recently, “shredded” were a 2009 Infiniti G37S and a 2007 Nissan 350Z, both rear-wheel-drive hot rods that are popular among driving enthusiasts.

The actual crushing, by machines watched by McMahill and Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, delivered their message, which was “impossible to misread,” according to a local report.

Behind the operation is LVMPD’s Hybrid RAID/VIPER Squad. It pools the resources of multiple agencies and focuses on repeat offenders.
