Ken Salazar, Joe Biden’s ambassador to Mexico, has roots in Colorado, so there are few that are further left than expectations would put him.

Colorado’s leftism has gone so far it repeatedly has launched attacks on Christians’ constitutional rights because they believe Christian teachings, only to be blocked by the Supreme Court multiple times. It has a leftist homosexual governor, it openly advocates for illegal aliens and its state Supreme Court is so into basing rulings on partisan politics its Democrats tried to block President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot.

Now comes Salzar, who was Colorado’s attorney general for a time, and was a Democrat senator from the state, issuing a warning to his own party, based on the failures of the Biden-Harris administration’s decisions on the border.

The details are from Politico, reporting on a book he is trying to promote.

“Salazar says he begged for a ‘border czar’ to run point on interagency coordination; he never got one, and instead, the moniker was inaccurately and problematically affixed to then-Vice President Kamala Harris. He asked for the White House to openly call it a border ‘crisis;’ the designation came too late,” the report explains.

He documents how he even told himself he should run for president just after Biden’s presidential race debate disaster and he dropped out of the race.

Salazar said his own party exhibited “political failure to understand the reality of the crisis at the border, and the political consequence it would have on Democrats in the 2024 election.”

He is hoping his party has learned.

He is making the case for his “new North American alliance” that would have the U.S., Canada and Mexico “integrate their supply chains, jointly patrol their shared borders and promote cultural and educational exchanges,” the report said.

“Salazar is positioning himself as his party’s immigration whisperer, meeting with presidential hopefuls and pitching them on his ‘borderlands platform,’ which says the U.S.’ borders are ‘broken’ and ‘must be fixed,'” the report said, the exact perspective that Trump has had for the border since he started campaigning.

The report said he’s already met with some of the Democrat party’s extremists, Sens. Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego, and plans to meet Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker.

Salazar never got the chance to seek the Dems’ 2024 nomination because party elites hand-picked Kamala Harris to replace Biden.

He said that was a mistake, as despite her designation as “border czar,” it resulted in her “having no effect on migration flows.”

“[Harris] had been placed in charge of getting at the ‘root causes’ of migration, but many felt she had been ineffective,” Salazar described.

“For whatever reason, she had been unable to help with the border and migration crisis, even though she’d sat next door to the Oval Office for almost four years,” he noted.

In fact, he told his wife in 2023 when Biden and his supporters remained in power, “I’m not sure this administration knows what they’re doing.”

He noted that Biden’s actual move to crack down on border scofflaws was too late, and “images of an out-of-control border would dominate the closing months of the presidential election.”

Trump, he confirmed, on this issue “had been correct.”
