A new court filing is arguing that the state of Colorado needs to recognize a full pardon issued by President Donald Trump for Republican former Mesa County clerk Tina Peters, who was convicted in the Democrat-run state in a court system which has only Democrats on its highest bench of preserving records from the conflicted 2020 presidential race.

“There is no question that the Pardon forgave federal offenses,” the motion filed on behalf of Peters explains. “However, the Pardon also forgave Colorado state court convictions for actions Clerk Peters ‘may have committed or taken part in related to election integrity and security’ during the applicable time period.”

Lawyers filed the motion in her case seeking for her to be released from prison while an appellate court recognizes the pardon issued by Trump.

Trump has, in fact, pardoned her from any federal crime, but Democrats in Colorado argue her convictions were under state laws, so Trump’s pardon doesn’t count.

She was convicted of official misconduct, conspiracy and influencing a public service after she allowed access to voting equipment in order to preserve official records because she suspected 2020 election fraud.

According to a Fox News report, her lawyers filed a motion explaining she should be released.

Trump has said, “Instead of protecting Americans and their Tax Dollars, Democrats chose instead to prosecute anyone they can find that wanted Safe and Secure Elections. Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest.”

Colorado’s Democrats who run the governor’s office, legislature and state Supreme Court claim the federal government has no jurisdictions over disputes involving national elections.

Colorado Democrat party spokesman Shad Murib said the president’s pardon was “meaningless.”

While that dispute remains to be resolved, the president’s administration already has launched investigations into various activities in Colorado that include the idea that the federal government could withhold funding from the leftist enclave.

“I have great confidence that the appeal will be determined in Tina’s favor,” explained Peter Ticktin, representing Peters.

A court already has told state officials to respond to the motion.

WND reported Trump’s pardon cited her conviction “for her attempts to expose Voter Fraud in the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election.”

He had announced on social media:

“For years, Democrats ignored Violent and Vicious Crime of all shapes, sizes, colors, and types. Violent Criminals who should have been locked up were allowed to attack again. Democrats were also far too happy to let in the worst from the worst countries so they could rip off American Taxpayers. Democrats only think there is one crime – Not voting for them! Instead of protecting Americans and their Tax Dollars, Democrats chose instead to prosecute anyone they can find that wanted Safe and Secure Elections. Democrats have been relentless in their targeting of TINA PETERS, a Patriot who simply wanted to make sure that our Elections were Fair and Honest Tina is sitting in a Colorado prison for the “crime” of demanding Honest Elections. Today I am granting Tina a full Pardon for her attempts to expose Voter Fraud in the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!”

His action came just days after he labeled homosexual Colorado Gov. Jared Polis a “sleazebag” for keeping Peters under lock and key.

Interestingly, the Democrat secretary of state in Colorado, Jena Griswold, allowed hundreds of election systems passwords to be posted on the Internet, and she was given a pass over her behavior.

It was District Judge Matthew Barrett who had claimed, while sentencing Peters to years in prison, she “abused” her position. He ranted in extra-judicial comments, “I am convinced you would do it all over again if you could. You’re as defiant as any defendant this court has ever seen. You are no hero. You abused your position, and you’re a charlatan.”

Peters has maintained her innocence.
