PALM BEACH, Florida – U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now claiming President Donald Trump is not a true Christian, saying “he does not have any faith,” and the White House is responding to what it calls the Georgia Republican’s “petty bitterness.”

In an interview Monday with the New York Times, Greene discussed Trump’s self-admitted “hate” for his enemies, which he voiced during the Sept. 21 memorial for slain civil-rights leader Charlie Kirk, immediately after Charlie’s widow Erika forgave the killer.

“He was a missionary with a noble spirit and a great, great purpose,” Trump said of Charlie Kirk.

“He did not hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them. That’s where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent, and I don’t want the best for them.”

“That was absolutely the worst statement,” Greene told the Times.

“It just shows where his heart is. And that’s the difference, with her (Erika Kirk) having a sincere Christian faith, and proves that he does not have any faith.”

In the New Testament, Jesus famously said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44 KJV)

In a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation, a White House spokesperson responded to MTG, saying: “Congresswoman Greene is quitting on her constituents in the middle of her term and abandoning the consequential fight we’re in – we don’t have time for her petty bitterness.”

After Erika Kirk forgave alleged assassin Tyler Robinson, Greene said she realized conservatives in America cannot “”keep pummeling [their] enemies,” but should display forgiveness.

“You just keep pummeling your enemies, no matter what. And as a Christian, I don’t believe in doing that. I agree with Erika Kirk, who did the hardest thing possible and said it out loud,” Greene said.

“After Charlie died, I realized that I’m part of this toxic culture. I really started looking at my faith. I wanted to be more like Christ.”

On Sunday, Greene posted a message critical of Trump’s scheduled meetings with the president of Ukraine and the prime minister of Israel, saying: “Zelensky today. Netanyahu tomorrow. Can we just do America?”

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer fired back at Greene on Monday, saying: “Do you not understand that the President of the United States has to communicate with other world leaders?

“It’s wild how you are a member of Congress and you still don’t understand this.”
