While most Americans will be celebrating Mother’s Day in May, folks in Wisconsin will be commemorating “Inseminated Person Day.”

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrats, has introduced a recommendation that would replace the word “mother” with the word “inseminated person” in official state law. He also proposes changing the word “paternity” to “parentage.”

References to “wife” or “husband” are changed to “spouse” in the proposal. In other places, the word “father” is changed to “parent,” and “mother” is swapped out for the phrase “parent who gave birth to the child.”

The Executive Director of the Republican Governors Association, Sara Craig released a statement condemning Gov. Evers’ language on Saturday.

“Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ latest left-wing push isn’t just out of touch, it’s offensive to mothers,” Craig wrote. “If Tony Evers can reduce motherhood to an ‘inseminated person’ then our society is lost.”

Evers doubled down and said the changes had nothing to do with wokeness.

“What the Republicans say is a lie, so of course I’m pretty pissed off about that,” he said. “It gives people using IVF legal certainty. That’s it… Moms are moms. Dads are dads. What we want is legal certainty.”

If moms are indeed moms, as the governor says, why did he propose calling them “inseminated persons”?

“If I called my mother an inseminated person, she’d probably slap me for good reason,” State Senator Andre Jacque told FOX 11. “We hear a lot about woke virtue signaling. I think this is probably the best example of that I’ve ever seen.”

Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Voss added: “Once again our woke DEI-loving Governor reminds us just how liberal and out of touch today’s Democratic Party really is.”

I can assure you that Southern governors would never consider such woke nonsense, Republican or Democrat. I have no doubt that any Southern lawmaker who called their mothers an “inseminated person” would be run out of the statehouse with a mob of mommas wielding cast iron skillets.
