Candace Cameron Bure of Full House and Fuller House fame has long been beloved as one of the only openly devout Christian actresses in Hollywood. While she has millions of adoring fans, Cameron Bure sadly has her full share of haters as well.

On Saturday, Cameron Bure took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she felt the need to delete a bathing suit photo of herself that she’d recently posted after online trolls attacked her for it.

‘It Wasn’t Worth It…’

“Yes. I was at the beach, I was in a one-piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of summer, I was having fun,” Cameron Bure, 49, wrote alongside a phot of herself wearing a butter yellow maxi dress.

“It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body,” she continued. “But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”

Cameron Bure, who is a mother of three adult children, has been open about her past body image issues. In July, she admitted to Fox News that she still has “troubling” thoughts about having the “perfect body.” Cameron Bure blames this on growing up in the 1980s.

“My daughter doesn’t have the same viewpoint of body image that I did growing up, and especially as a child of the ‘80s and ’90s,” Cameron Bure said. “It’s like mine’s all messed up.”

“It makes me sad to see everyone suddenly becoming skinny because I think it’s very triggering for a lot of people our age that grew up in the ‘80s and ’90s,” she lamented. “It was the ‘Kate Moss era’ and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is what we have to be attractive.'”

Cameron Bure’s Bulimia Struggles

Later that same month, Cameron Bure opened up about her battle with bulimia on an episode of her eponymous podcast.

“I developed an eating disorder when I was 18,” she confessed. “It was binging and purging. I’m a bulimic. And I still say I’m a bulimic.”

Cameron Bure went on to clarify that she doesn’t engage in bulimic behavior. However, she still battles with the mental impact of this eating disorder.

“Because the thoughts — whether I’m doing that or not — they never leave me,” she lamented. “So I still need the tools to just say, ‘No, Candace, we’re not doing that.'”

Cameron Bure had previously discussed her bulimia battle in a 2016 interview.

“I had a very unhealthy relationship with food that turned into bulimia,” she said at the time. “I kind of lost my identity in a sense, and what happened was I turned to food for comfort when my husband was traveling and when I was alone.”

Cameron Bure’s ‘Random’ Biblical Dream

Cameron Bure has also said that she once had a “random” dream related to both her body image and a Biblical story. In this tale, a man named Balaam whipped his donkey mercilessly. He did this even though he had a mule that worked well for him.

“I wake up from this dream one morning and God just vividly showed me that I’ve been like Balaam,” she said as she became emotional.

“I’ve whipped my body,” she concluded. “I’ve spoken to it so harshly. So mean. ‘What are you doing? Why do you look this way, why are you fat? Why can’t you be like every other body?’”

It’s unfortunate that Cameron Bure is still forced deal with negative comments about her body from online haters. We applaud her for still having the courage to inspire others by being so open about her body image issues.

God bless you, Candace Cameron Bure!
