In the scathing Truth Social post, the president took aim at Kaitlan after her live coverage of Trump's $300 million ballroom project on the White House. The ballroom will be part of a new structure that will replace the demolished East Wing of the historical building which was torn down in October 2025.

This expensive ballroom project has been highly criticized in the past few months for its funding, design, and permitting process. And after Kaitlan delivered the latest update that Trump has hired a new architect for the project after firing the last one, he has taken aim at her on social media with a lengthy post.

In Trump's post he wrote, "Caitlin Collin’s of Fake News CNN, always Stupid and Nasty, asked me why the new Ballroom was costing more money than originally thought one year ago. I said because it is going to be double the size, and the quality of finishes and interiors has been brought to the highest level. Also, the column SPAN has been substantially increased for purposes of viewing."

He continued, "It is actually under budget and ahead of schedule, as my jobs always are. It’s just much bigger and more beautiful than originally planned. Interestingly, and seldom reported, there are no taxpayer dollars involved. It is being fully paid for by private donations."

Trump concluded the fiery post, "FAKE NEWS CNN, and the guy who runs the whole corrupt operation that owns it, is one of the worst in the business. Their ratings are so low that they’re not even counted or relevant anymore. MAGA!!!"

The White House State Ballroom will be approximately 90,000 total square feet and will resemble the design of Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort with a maximalist, opulent, and gilded style. The ballroom is expected to have a capacity of 650 people to host large-scale state dinners and events.

Trump has now selected Shalom Baranes as the ballroom project’s new architect after butting heads with the previous. James McCrery II and his boutique firm had been leading the project for three months, up until late October.

This animosity towards Kaitlan comes as the journalist previously confronted him on the red carpet at at The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts on Friday for the FIFA Draw. During the event, Kaitlan pressed him about accepting a Peace Prize amid plans to strike Venezuela.

She asked Trump, "You’re expected to get the FIFA Peace Prize, Mr. President. What would you say to people who say that prize might conflict with your pledge to strike Venezuela?"

To which he replied, "Well, I think the Peace Prize, I mean, I settled eight wars. I don’t know that I’m getting it. I haven’t been officially noticed. I’ve been hearing about a Peace Prize. And I’m here to represent our country in a different sense. But I can tell you, I did settle eight wars, and we have a ninth coming, but — and which nobody’s ever done before."

He continued, "But I want to really save lives. I don’t need prizes. I need to save lives. And we’re saving a lot of lives. I’ve saved millions and millions of lives, and that’s really what I want to do. And I also want to run a great country. And the United States right now is the hottest country anywhere in the world. And one year ago was dead, we had a dead country. And now we have the hottest country anywhere in the world."
