President Trump celebrated the official renaming of Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) to President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT), declaring it will “soon be one of the Greatest and Most Spectacular Airports anywhere in the World” on Thursday.
The airport officially opened under its new name, DJT, this morning.
The President’s son, Eric Trump, joined Fox News this morning after he landed at the airport, now under its official new name, on board the Trump family’s private plane, Trump Force One, at 5:01 am.
“There’s no way in hell I was letting UPS be the first plane to land,” Trump said, noting that he was on the last flight out of PBI and the first to land immediately upon the airport’s reopening.
“We touched down at exactly 5:01 am this morning, and it was a beautiful day. I don’t think there’s anybody more synonymous with Palm Beach than Donald Trump in maybe all of Florida,” Trump continued.
“It’s his home, he absolutely loves the state, he won the state by a major margin. You know, and this is the plane that carried him to victory, a lot of people would argue, three times, but certainly two. It was the backdrop of so many of the Presidential campaign stops, so many stops with us as a family. So, it was an incredibly special moment for us this morning.”

Eric Trump also shared footage from when he landed at DJT, with air traffic controllers announcing the official reopening. “Attention all aircraft, effective immediately, Palm Beach International Airport is officially President Donald J. Trump International Airport.”
