Apple and chipmaker Micron Technology announced new investments in American chip manufacturing this week, totaling nearly $300 billion.

The President highlighted the news that Micron is investing more than $250 billion through 2035 to build memory chips in the US on Truth Social earlier.

“BIGGER INVESTMENTS JUST KEEP COMING! The Trump Effect is REAL,” Trumps said. “For years, the Do Nothing Dumocrats bogged down American Industry with crushing Red Tape, complete Economic Mismanagement, and ridiculous Woke Mandates. True Economic Security is MADE IN AMERICA. 🇺🇸MAGA! President DONALD J. TRUMP

“As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, data and memory are foundational to the modern economy — and Micron is increasing our U.S. investments to more than $250 billion through 2035 to meet that moment,” Sanjay Mehrotra, Micron Chairman, President, and CEO, said in a press release on Thursday.

“I want to thank President Trump, Secretary Lutnick, Governor Hochul, Senator Schumer, County Executive McMahon, and our partners across government and the community for their leadership. Reaching this milestone ahead of schedule reflects the speed and determination behind this project. Micron is proud to bring the world’s most advanced memory manufacturing to Central New York, strengthen the domestic semiconductor supply chain and help secure America’s technology leadership for generations to come.”

The company said it is celebrating “the first concrete pour milestone at its Clay, New York site, which occurs more than one quarter ahead of the original plan and marks the transition from site preparation to vertical construction.”

“President Trump has made it clear that America is where you should build your business and the world is responding rapidly. Today, Micron pours the foundation on its massive semiconductor campus in upstate New York and increases its American investment commitment to $250 billion, creating nearly 100,000 jobs and providing leading-edge memory supply here in the United States,” Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said.

Trump has publicly praised Micron numerous times over the past month.

Later, Trump shared an article from Fox Business about Apple also investing $30 billion in US chip manufacturing.

Apple announced the new investment, in partnership with Broadcom, to produce 15 billion chips on Wednesday, the report notes.

“The cutting-edge components built in Fort Collins are essential to delivering the incredible performance and connectivity our customers expect, and we’re proud to deepen our investments in U.S.-based suppliers that share our commitment to excellence and innovation,” Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement. “We’re grateful to the President and his administration for supporting important projects like this.”
