More From NBC:
She and her husband, Vice President JD Vance, have three other young children, two boys and one girl, who are ages 4 to 9.
While promoting his new book this year, Vance previously said it was unlikely that he would take parental leave once the baby arrived. The couple announced the pregnancy in January and said at the time that she was due in late July.
In March, the vice president, who could run for president in 2028, said at a White House event in Michigan that he had to persuade his wife to have another child.
I remember when we decided to run for vice president, I said, ‘Honey, I really want to have a fourth kid.’ And she said, ‘Well, you can become vice president or you can have a fourth baby,’” Vance said. “But, ladies and gentlemen, I am persuasive, because I got both.”
