Counter-terrorism cops have taken over the investigation that local police tried to say was ‘not politically motivated’.
Former conservative Minister and Reform UK politician Ann Widdecombe’s killing is being treated as terrorism.
The UK’s Counter-terrorism police took control of the investigation into her death after ‘new information and evidence’ came to light.
As we have reported here in TGP, Widdecombe was found dead at her home in Devon last Thursday (9), as you can read in British Conservative Icon Ann Widdecombe Murdered in Her Home — Suspect in Custody.
This morning I have spoken to the head of @TerrorismPolice. Following new information and evidence, they are now leading on the investigation into the horrific murder of Ann Widdecombe.
The police are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the motivation for this…

🚨 UPDATE: The white British man arrested over the suspected murder of Ann Widdecombe has been re-arrested on suspicion of preparing or instigating acts of terrorism

The Telegraph reported:
“A 28-year-old white British man who was initially arrested for murder on Saturday has been rearrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism, Counter Terrorism Policing South East said.”
Local Devon and Cornwall Police said that the alleged murder was politically motivated, but that call was obviously wrong.
Reform UK party, on their part, have been insisting that the attack may have been motivated by Widdecombe’s politics – a claim that is being vindicated.
Ann Widdecombe:
“No one has the right to live their lives being protected from offence or hurt feelings – it is an occupational hazard of living in a society. If you can’t take it, become a hermit.”

“Laurence Taylor, the head of National Counter Terrorism Policing, said on Monday: ’ Building on the progress made by our colleagues in Devon and Cornwall Police, we now have new information and evidence that means Counter Terrorism Policing is now leading the investigation. We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the motivation for this attack’.”
‘We don’t know at this stage how co-operative this individual has been…’
