President Trump put Stephen A. Smith, arguably the loudest mouth in sports, in his place after Smith said he would blame him if the New York Knicks lost Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

As TGP readers know, Trump attended the game at historic Madison Square Garden to support his beloved Knicks as they looked to seize an insurmountable 3-0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs. But the Spurs rallied in the second half to hand the Knicks a crushing 115-111 defeat in front of a hostile crowd. Trump was given a rude welcome by the TDS-suffering crowd at the Garden, being roundly booed when he was shown on the Jumbotron during the National Anthem.

However, his supporters in the crowd also started chanting “USA!… USA!…” when the president was shown on the monitors.

The fans eventually got their just deserts when the Spurs rallied in the second half to hand the Knicks a crushing 115-111 defeat and jump back into the series.

Before the game, Smith, who has talked about running for President in 2028, announced that he would blame Trump if the Knicks lost.

“This president has no business showing up in New York City. I am dead serious,” Smith whined. “It is selfish. It is narcissistic. It is ridiculous that he is coming to this game.”

“If it causes the New York Knicks to lose tonight, I’m blaming him,” he added.

While on his way back to D.C., Trump, a longtime Knicks fan, was asked about Smith’s stupid statement. Unsurprisingly, Trump did not hold back.

REPORTER: ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith, who has talked about running for President, said he would blame you if the Knicks lost the game. How do you respond to that?

TRUMP: “I think he’s a nice guy, but you need a certain aptitude to run for president. You need a high IQ; I’m not sure Stephen has that.

I don’t think he does, actually.”
