Nithya Raman, the Democratic Socialist (communist) running for mayor of Los Angeles, who somehow gained enough votes to bump Spencer Pratt off the ballot once Democrats had a chance to count ballots for days and days, recently tweeted a message of thanks to voters.

Her message was not received well. The replies, some of which you can see below, are amazingly brutal.

This election has been a total disgrace, but there might be a silver lining here. The mask has been ripped off. People can finally see just how corrupt this process has become. Even many people who land somewhere in the middle are convinced that they are witnessing outright fraud.

Raman’s full message on Twitter/X was:

I’m incredibly honored that voters have given us the opportunity to advance to the general election for Mayor of Los Angeles.

To the thousands of supporters who knocked doors, made calls, sent texts, donated, and opened their homes for events across the city, and to everyone else who made this moment possible: thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Now our fight for a healthier, safer, more affordable, and more joyful Los Angeles continues. For too long, City Hall has prioritized giving political advantage to powerful interests that fund elections. Meanwhile, working people pay the price in higher rents, depleted services, and a city that has stopped working for them.

If you’re as frustrated by the broken status quo as I am, I hope you’ll join our movement to build a city that works for everyone.

This is the tweet:

Here is a sample of the replies:

Here’s the problem Raman faces going forward. If she actually ‘wins’ the election, this will be a permanent shadow over her tenure as mayor.

She will never be rid of it.
