Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) invited President Trump to attend a Senate GOP luncheon on Wednesday at the Capitol to discuss the SAVE America Act.

Republican Senators are refusing to come together to pass the SAVE America Act even though more than 70% of Americans back the voter ID bill.

So Rick Scott invited President Trump to the Capitol to meet with Senators and he accepted the invite.

“If we can’t pass the whole thing let’s start taking sections. Let’s do a vote on just voter ID. Let’s do a vote on just you have to be an American citizen to register to vote,” Rick Scott told Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany.

“We’ve got to get this done,” Rick Scott said.

President Trump has repeatedly called on the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act.

“Requirement for Voter I.D. to vote should be something that NO American should oppose. If you want to register to vote in the United States, you have to be a citizen in the United States,” the White House previously said in a statement.

The White House previously touted a poll that showed more than 70% of Americans support the SAVE America Act.

Earlier this month, the Senate rejected the SAVE America Act as part of the reconciliation package.

Four Republicans voted to reject the Graham Amendment: Murkowski, McConnell, Tillis, and Collins.

The amendment needed 60 votes to pass, but this vote showed that the Republicans likely wouldn’t pass the SAVE America Act if the filibuster was nuked.
