Another unimaginable crime in the violence-ridden island.

Zoos are important institutions that help people know animals and learn about them, leading them to love and respect the natural world.

Zoos should not be places for crimes of opportunity.

But today, tragedy struck a Cambridgeshire zoo and led to a three-year-old boy being rushed to the hospital in a critical condition, after he was thrown into a crocodile enclosure.

The Telegraph reported:

“Police said they had arrested a 30-year-old British man from Norfolk on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident at Johnsons Zoo, near Huntingdon, on Thursday afternoon.

The suspect and the boy, who was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s hospital with serious injuries, were not believed to have known each other, officers added.”

When we learn that UK authorities are NOT divulging the identity of the suspect other than he is ‘a UK man’ is leading many to imagine that this is yet another contribution from Britain’s open borders policy.

This does not have to be the case, of course – but why else would they withhold the identity?

“Johnsons Zoo has 10 species of crocodile, which visitors can view from a raised platform above the Tropical House enclosure.

[…] Det Insp Verity McCann, of Cambridgeshire Constabulary, said: ‘At this stage, we are speaking to people who were at the zoo at the time of this distressing incident to understand more about the circumstances. We do not believe the man arrested and the child are known to each other. Officers are supporting the boy’s family at hospital, and our thoughts remain with them’.”
