Fireworks erupted behind closed doors today between President Trump and one of the most notorious RINOs in the Senate.

Per multiple reports, Trump and Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy engaged in a yelling match over the latter’s backing a measure to limit his war powers during a two-hour-long closed-door GOP Senate lunch meeting.

As TGP readers know, Cassidy was one of four Republicans to vote to limit Trump’s perfectly constitutional powers. The bill passed by a 50-48 margin.

Trump also criticized Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) for missing the vote on war powers.

At one point during their shouting competition, Cassidy stopped calling Trump “Mr. President” and referred to him as “brother.”

Trump fired back, calling Cassidy a “lunatic” and telling him he was not his brother.

Cassidy eventually sat down.

The Louisiana RINO later spoke to reporters about his argument with the president.

“As I recall, he did not particularly care for my comments, raised his voice,” Cassidy said. “I lost my temper, that’s not appropriate.”

“I make no apologies for standing up to the president,” he added. “I am sticking up for the American people, even if I’m speaking to the president.”

Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) drew a colorful analogy when confronted by reporters about the Trump-Cassidy blowup.

“Very much like a hospital board meeting when a bunch of doctors are yelling at each other but at the end of the day we’ll figure out a way to get along,” he said, “Voices were raised.… I think the vote yesterday on the War Powers Act, the president’s very disappointed.”

The New York Post reported that Trump additionally urged Republican senators during the meeting to use the so-called “talking filibuster” to overcome Democratic opposition to the SAVE America Act.

The SAVE Act is an absolutely critical measure that requires every American to show ID to cast a ballot. It also requires proof of citizenship BEFORE registering to vote.

Democrats are in meltdown mode because, should the measure pass, they will find stealing elections far more challenging.
