Steak ‘n Shake has announced the installation of massive American flags at its restaurants nationwide, signaling a unapologetic embrace of patriotism amid the ongoing culture war.

This comes on the heels of the chain’s heartfelt tributes to assassinated conservative icon Charlie Kirk, which included a viral billboard from a Georgia franchisee that has drawn massive support.

Steak ‘n Shake, the beloved fast-food chain known for its classic burgers and shakes, made headlines over the weekend by declaring it would hoist “the tallest and biggest American flag that local governments will allow” at all its locations.

In a post on X on Saturday, the company wrote:

The flag installations have begun at Steak n Shake.

Every Steak n Shake is getting the tallest and biggest American flag that local governments will allow!

Steak n Shake proudly supports American values and traditions.

This isn’t the first time in the last month that the company has been outspoken about its conservative values.

Just days after Kirk’s death, Steak ‘n Shake issued a poignant statement mourning the loss of the Turning Point USA founder, posting on social media, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Charlie Kirk. He was a devoted husband and father, a powerful voice for freedom, and a courageous champion for conservative values.”

Meanwhile, Cracker Barrel is still scrambling to reverse its disastrous “woke” rebrand after fierce backlash, including from Steak ‘n Shake, which even put up a billboard calling for the chain to fire its CEO.

Steak ‘n Shake posted on X last month:

“Cracker Barrel’s board has failed its shareholders. It has spent over a decade fighting with one of its largest shareholders rather than collaborating for the good of the company. CB has been at the forefront of the DEI movement at the same time it has reduced food quality and burned millions on failed acquisitions. The board apparently has more regard for DEI than ROI.

Now, we are running a proxy contest at our own expense to fire the CEO. Biglari is doing the work left undone by the board.

Fire the CEO!
Save Cracker Barrel!”

Steak ‘n Shake has also promoted the Netflix boycott over adult themes in children’s programming.

There is a lesson to be learned here.

Companies like Steak ‘n Shake are thriving by honoring American heroes like Charlie Kirk and flying the flag high, while others like Cracker Barrel learn the hard way that going woke means going broke.
