20-0: Michigan's Lawless SOS Jocelyn Benson Gets Pummeled At Public Hearing On Her Made Up Rules Created To Make Cheating Easier | The Gateway Pundit | by Patty McMurray

The nation’s dirtiest Secretary of State is under fire yet again, this time for making up a rule that would prohibit Check My Vote, a very effective online election integrity tool that gives Michigan citizens the ability to see who’s registered to vote and who is voting from a specific address in their state.  Unlike the Michigan QVF (Qualified Voter Files), Check My Vote, created by Phani Mantravadi and Tim Vetter (who is no longer with CMV), gives citizens in Michigan, Tennessee, and Ohio an easy and free way to enter an address and determine the voting activity at that address for the past several years.

Last week, the Michigan Secretary of State (SOS) and Bureau of Elections (BOE) held a hearing to solicit public comments on 12 new (tricks) administrative rules (R 168.251-168.262) that Secretary of State Benson plans to implement in Michigan, without any oversight by the Michigan legislature, as required by Michigan’s Constitution.

Here are just a few of the ways MFEI outlines that Jocelyn Benson is trying to change the way citizen-led watchdog groups scrutinize voter rolls, and how she’s attempting to implement a very dangerous and insecure online voting program for NON-military overseas voters:

  • Label effective research tools like Ancestry.com, Findagrave.com, and CheckMyVote.org as “unreliable sources” of information for voter roll clean-up purposes.
  • Ancestry.com and Findagrave.com are commonly used tools to determine if a voter is alive or deceased, a long-standing problem with Jocelyn Benson’s voter rolls.

  • Require expensive and time-consuming standards, such as notarized affidavits for EACH challenged voter registration and certified mail requirements on other actions.
  • Expand preferential treatment for overseas military personnel to all overseas voters, 83% of whom are non-military.
Diminishes clerk efficiency, requiring a two-year “waiting period” to implement specific changes vs the faster 30-day challenge timeline.
  • Creates broadly-written anti-harassment provisions with the potential to label any systematic challenge effort as “harassment.”
  • At least 20 Michigan residents showed up at the public hearing to make their voices heard. Not ONE of the citizens who commented on MI SOS Benson's new rules was in favor of her rule changes, which in every case make it easier to cheat in elections and harder for citizens to expose the cheating.

Over 20 individuals spoke in opposition to Besnon's new rules changes. Not ONE person spoke in favor ot them.

MI SOS Benson skipped the public humiliation of attending the meeting to discuss her new vote cheating rules. Michigan's top election official may not have shown up for the public comment meeting, but 20 citizens, from clerks who administer elections in Michigan, to Bryana Vitale, Chief Aid for Speaker Protem and Michigan House Election Integrity Chair Rachelle Smit, to several Michigan's top election integrity experts, like Patrice Johnson, founder of Michigan Fair Elections Institute (MFEI), former Senator Patrick Colbeck, MI SOS 2026 candidate Monica Yatooma, and Check My Vote co-founders, Tim Vetter and Phani Mantravadi, all of them showed up to express their grave concerns over Benson's attempts to make new laws to make Michigan elections far less secure.

    Watch:

SOS Benson's new rules, making it even easier to cheat in future elections, will now head to JCAR, the MI Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

In an "X" post, former Senator Patrick Colbeck explains how the JCAR vote works:

Here's the kicker about MI SoS Jocelyn "we will come for you" Benson's new rules, making it harder to remove illegal voters from the state voter rolls.

The MI JCAR Committee responsible for rules oversight is a joint committee of Senators and Representatives.
There is reportedly a JCAR meeting scheduled on Wednesday to review the proposed new rules.
There must be a unique quorum for both Senators and Representatives for the JCAR committee to conduct any business.
The MI Senate is controlled by Democrats.
Three of the five Senate JCAR members are democrats.
If JCAR fails to have a quorum of either chamber for this Committee hearing, the new rule will automatically be adopted as law.

What are the odds that Senate Democrats will be a no-show on Wednesday?

HINT: If the Senate Democrats do show, it would set up the possibility of a tied vote. In the case of a tied vote, the rule would not be adopted.

Thanks to Check My Vote, The Gateway Pundit has been able to expose numerous instances of dead voters registered to vote and, in some cases, voting in the state. We also uncovered 19 individuals who were registered to vote at a non-existent address in Holland, Michigan; 8 of them had cast 13 votes between the 2020 and 2022 elections (see link below for full report). After our report on the fake address went viral, the address we exposed was quietly removed from the voter rolls, and the voters either were removed or moved to other addresses in Michigan.

Only days before the 2024 election, CMV was able to determine that by reviewing the FOIA'd Daily Absentee Report on October 28, 2024, that 80K +  voters cast over 205K early and absentee ballots, which was an excess of over 125,428 duplicate ballots in the November 2024 election!

By making internal changes to the voter rolls that the Michigan legislation has not authorized, Benson has made it nearly impossible for citizens to use the information that's taken DIRECTLY from the State Department's voter rolls to detect mass voter fraud and mass voter registration fraud across the state of Michigan.

In March 2024, MI SOS Benson, through her Board of Elections division, removed the"ballot ID" information, the "method of voting", and the "ballot return date" in the March 2024 QVFs. By making these changes, they stripped CMV of the ability to identify how the voters voted and if the same ballot ID was used to vote more than once. Why would they want to hide these important factors from the citizens Benson is supposed to represent?

Previously, Michigan voter rolls included the method by which each voter cast their vote. After several instances of voter fraud and voter registration fraud were uncovered by CMV using the voters' alleged voting method, MI SOS Benson made the decision to hide that particular data from the voter rolls before sending it to citizen watchdog groups like Check My Vote, making it much more difficult to track all of the serious issues with Benson's voter rolls, including duplicate, non-existent, and deceased voters.

In March, I was a guest of Steve Bannon's on The War Room, where we discussed the hit piece on Check My Vote and defended the amazing citizen volunteers who are cleaning up the voter rolls in Michigan.

Here is just one example of a piece written by The Gateway Pundit, exposing the attacks by the New York Times against Check My Vote, by Alexandra Berzon, a self-proclaimed “election denier movement” reporter for the New York Times:

I explained to Bannon how Check My Vote, an all-volunteer organization, has been under attack by leftist writer Alexandra Berzon of the New York Times, who has worked very hard to (unsuccessfully) discredit Check My Vote, which was founded by the brilliant Phani Mantravadi.

"I tested it out myself and discovered that I was still registered to vote at the home that I grew up in over 30 years ago! I actually had to go drive to the clerk's office an hour away and ask them to remove my name from the voter rolls after I discovered it was still there over 30 years later!" I told Bannon.

"So this is an important tool for citizens," I explained, adding, "It's really doing the work that ERIC is not doing. ERIC is the electronic voter registration group that used to be run by David Becker, the Democrat operative, one of the top Democrat operatives in America---as you know, Steve..."

The George Soros-funded Secretary of State is also running for governor in the state of Michigan. When it comes to elections, lawmakers in the state have so little faith in her ability to honestly and fairly oversee the state's elections that they are attempting to pass a bill that would prevent her from continuing to create her own set of election rules or "unfairly influencing the outcomes" of her own election in 2026.

On August 27, Michigan State Rep. Jennifer Wortz announced her unprecedented plan to require the Michigan Secretary of State to immediately resign if he or she chooses to run for another elected office.

House Bill 4819 would require the Secretary of State to resign upon filing for, being nominated to, or being appointed to any other elected or appointed public office. Wortz highlighted the need for impartiality in the position’s official duties as justification for her legislation. As the state’s chief election officer, the Secretary of State oversees the administration of elections, including registration, ballot preparation, and the certification of results. The position requires ensuring that all elections are conducted fairly, transparently, securely, and in compliance with state and federal law.

“The person overseeing our elections shouldn’t also be able to have their name on the top of the ballot,” said Wortz, R-Quincy. “Allowing someone to simultaneously manage and participate in an election is like letting the fox guard the henhouse. There is just too much opportunity to unfairly influence outcomes.”

Wortz noted several examples from the tenure of current Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson that underscore the importance of having an impartial secretary of state to ensure fairness in Michigan elections. She highlighted incidents such as Benson announcing her campaign in a state building, election guidance being thrown out by courts, and her oversight of training for local clerks as potential conflicts of interest for someone seeking another office.

“I didn’t introduce this bill just because of Secretary Benson, but her actions underscore the importance of legislation like this,” Wortz said. “If she had to resign upon filing, she wouldn’t have made her announcement in her own office building, because it wouldn’t have been hers. If she had to resign, we wouldn’t have to worry about unfair election rules or guidance coming down from her office ahead of the election next year. I think everyone would sleep easier knowing there is zero chance of foul play.”

Last month, a Check My Vote volunteer investigator worked with me on what may be one of the most significant discoveries on Michigan's voter rolls to date, a scheme to register voters using foreign addresses as a mailing address and vacant residences in high-crime areas as their so-called local residence. We were able to find 31 voters registered at one address, a Detroit coffee shop with no evidence of anyone living above in the small space, which is listed as "vacant" on local records.

Read the incredible investigative report here in its entirety:

MI Voter Registration BOMBSHELL: Israeli Addresses Used to Register Multiple Permanent Absentee Voters from a Single Detroit Coffee Shop—Here’s What We Found

Without the Check My Vote tool, our research would have been almost impossible. Suppose SOS Benson is successful in stripping citizens of the right to use their incredible service to make claims against illegal voters. In that case, the opportunity for overseas voters to steal our future elections is astronomically high.

After we published our story about the coffee shop in Detroit, Jocelyn Benson sent out a memo to inform clerks and the general public that she has made up a rule that would allow NON-military overseas (UOCVA) Uniformed Overseas Civilian Voter Act to vote online.

With Jocelyn Benson running for governor in the state of Michigan and overseeing her own election for governor in 2026, citizens must let their lawmakers know that they disapprove of her making her own election rules without any legislative oversight, which makes it easier for bad actors to cheat.
