Ex-NFL star Antonio Brown being extradited to US over attempted murder charge

FORMER NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown will be extradited to Miami to face an attempted murder charge in connection with a shooting that occurred back in May.

The 37-year-old Brown is back in South Florida to stand trial for a shooting outside a celebrity boxing event earlier this year.

Police confirmed Thursday that Brown was being extradited from Dubai to Miami.

Officials didn’t reveal where he is currently being held.

Brown was taken into custody at Newark Airport in New Jersey.

A warrant was issued in June for Brown on a charge of attempted murder with a firearm for a May 16 shooting at an amateur boxing event organized by influencer Adin Ross.

After the warrant was issued, Brown hired an attorney who was able to secure a bond of $10,000.

The bond included house arrest, but Brown didn’t return to South Florida.

Brown revealed on social media that he wasn’t in the United States while being a wanted man.

“I’m out the country ain’t no more Child Support tell your mama get a job,” he said.

Police said they responded to the scene after receiving a ShotSpotter alert at 3:00 am.

There weren’t any arrests at the time, and no injuries were reported after several police officers questioned numerous people at the scene.

Brown was accused of punching a man and shooting at him, per the Washington Post.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout allegedly snagged a gun from a security guard and shot at a man.

The man claimed to have been shot twice and was grazed in the neck area.

A video, posted by Only in Dade, displayed a portion of the incident involving Brown and multiple other individuals.

The warrant cites several witnesses on the scene who say Brown was the shooter.

Officers on the scene shared that Brown didn’t have a weapon on him.

He wasn’t arrested as the police couldn’t locate the victim.

Brown claimed that people jumped him and tried to steal his jewelry.

“I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” he posted on social media.
