Inside the Bust: Crime Gang Targets Star HomesPRO ATHLETES TARGETEDThe alleged armed robbery is the latest in what has been a string of incidents involving high-profile athletes.
Earlier this week, seven people with alleged links to a South American crime group were charged for breaking into the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes hours apart.
The crimes happened on the day the Chiefs played the New Orleans Saints in October.
Kelce's first Super Bowl jersey, an expensive watch, and designer clothes were allegedly taken from his home.
Sources told The U.S. Sun that Mahomes' wife, Brittany, saw some of her personal belongings swiped.
Court documents, seen by ABC News, accused the seven people of stealing valuables worth more than $2 million.
Legal papers included one of the suspects wearing a Kansas City shirt.
The suspects face up to 10 years in prison if they are convicted.
Before the link to a South American crime group emerged, experts explained the operation behind the attacks was "sophisticated."
"This is a sophisticated operation; it's not some guy that's going down to the local pawn shop," security expert Mike Barbieri told the Fox affiliate WDAF-TV.
The South American crime ring is also linked to cases involving a Tampa Bay Buccaneers star and the Memphis Grizzlies' Ja Morant.
Thieves allegedly swiped jewelry, watches, and luxurious bags, which had a combined value of around $1 million, from the Morant's home in December.
The alleged theft happened on December 19, according to court papers seen by ESPN.
That was the night the Grizzlies defeated the Golden State Warriors in Memphis, Tennessee.
Morant refused to comment on the case.

Around $1.4 million worth of his belongings were allegedly stolen in November last year.
