The situation follows attacks on Moscow's oil refinery on Thursday for a second time in a week by Ukraine, sending huge plumes of smoke over the capital, disrupting hundreds of flights at its airports in one of its biggest drone attacks since Russia’s full-scale invasion over four years ago, officials said.

The attack by dozens of drones came hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had held “an important coordination call” with the presidents of the United States and France and had won key pledges of further support from this week’s G7 summit.

Gasoline prices are rising at some gas stations, Telegram Channel Astra reported on June 19. The average price for a liter of gasoline at some stations was no more than 72 rubles ($1.00), while at others it exceeded 85 rubles ($1.15).

Another resident reportedly said, "Does anyone know what's going on in Moscow? Not a single gas station has 100-octane fuel. Rosneft is closed. Is something happening?"

The Moscow attack was the latest embarrassment for Putin. Ukrainian drones attacked his hometown of St. Petersburg earlier this month as he welcomed foreign VIPs to his showcase economic forum in the city.
