Crypto kidnapping in Minnesota

In…Minnesota? Life in the land of 10,000 lakes gets ever-more bizarre. From a press release issued by the U.S. Attorney,
Brothers Charged in $8 Million Armed Crypto-Kidnapping Heist.
And what were the Garcia boys up to?
Raymond Christian Garcia, 23, and Isiah Angelo Garcia, 24, were charged federally by complaint with Kidnapping for engaging in a kidnapping and cryptocurrency heist where they held a family at gunpoint for nine hours and stole $8 million in crypto currency, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson. The crime forced Mahtomedi Public Schools to cancel its homecoming football game for the safety of its community.
Yikes! The police compliant describes an early-morning home invasion taking place in a very nice St. Paul suburb. The crime included a detour to a lake cabin three hours north.
During the hours-long ordeal, the victim’s son managed to call 911 and summon help.
The police search for the fleeing perpetrators caused the disruption to the nearby football game. Three days later, authorities finally caught up with the brothers at their home down in Texas.
It’s unclear whether the victim got back the $8 million. It’s like something out of Fargo.
