President Donald Trump threw his full support behind the reelection effort of Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., issuing a forceful endorsement tied to Graham’s support for a legislative proposal Trump described as the “SAVE AMERICA ACT.”

In a post published Thursday on Truth Social, Trump praised the GOP lawmaker for advancing the measure and urged Republican voters to back Graham in the state’s upcoming June 9 primary election.

“I’d like to thank our GREAT Senator, Lindsey Graham, for putting up THE SAVE AMERICA ACT for a Vote today,” Trump wrote, framing the legislation as a package of conservative priorities.

Trump highlighted five key provisions he said are included in the proposal.

According to the president, the legislation would require that “ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PHOTO I.D. (IDENTIFICATION!),” and that “ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP.”

The proposal would also restrict voting by mail, allowing absentee ballots only in cases involving “ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY, OR TRAVEL.”

Beyond election-related measures, Trump said the bill would prohibit transgender people from competing in women’s athletics and would ban what he called “TRANSGENDER MUTILIZATION SURGERY FOR OUR CHILDREN.”

The endorsement underscores the continued political alliance between Trump and Graham.
