Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, ripped the Supreme Court for upholding the birthright citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment in an appearance Tuesday on Newsmax.

“The United States Supreme Court issued an opinion today that is massively damaging to the national security and to the fabric of our country, and it is incumbent upon the United States Congress to respond,” Roy said on “Rob Schmitt Tonight.”

“We need to respond forcefully and quickly,” he added. “We should not accept the premise that you must amend the Constitution to fix this aberration.”

Roy said in light of the ruling, Congress should make sure no one comes into the United States for the foreseeable future.

“Certainly, no one who’s pregnant,” he said.

“There should be ramifications to this, and the Supreme Court needs to feel it,” he said.

“We have a voice in what the Constitution says,” Roy added.

“You can’t just acquiesce to the court, essentially obliterating our sovereign nation by saying that you can have Chinese Communist women come here and birth children on our dirt, and they become citizens simply because they say so — that’s absurd.”
