The murder trial against an ex-porn actress accused of decapitating the father of her children continued Friday as witnesses explained how the victim died and how police never tested swords in the suspect’s home.

Devyn Michaels, 47, who also uses the names Nikki Fairchild and Tracee Tavarez, is accused of killing 46-year-old Johnathan Willette on Aug. 7, 2023. Michaels, who had two children with Johnathan Willette, later married Johnathan Willette’s son, making that man both her husband and essentially her stepson.

Last fall, Michaels pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge. As part of the deal, she would be eligible for parole after serving 15 years in prison. Michaels later attempted to revoke her plea, but Clark County District Court Judge Tierra Jones determined Michaels entered it “voluntarily, knowingly and intelligently,” documents said. During sentencing this summer, Michaels apologized and then immediately said she was innocent, sending the case to trial.

Testimony Friday included Johnathan Willette’s mother, Yoko Willette, who told the jury she found her son deceased and wrapped in a blanket inside their Henderson home. At the time of his death, Johnathan Willette was living with his mother but was in the process of moving into Devyn Michaels’ northwest valley home.
