US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth comments on the latest strikes on Iran, which came after the Revolutionary Guards fired on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz and declared the waterway closed until further notice.

“Iran made a poor choice. Now they pay,” Hegseth writes on X.

Iranian media reports explosions being heard in several coastal areas along the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, including Bushehr, Asaluyeh and Chabahar.

Three blasts have reportedly been heard in Bandar Abbas and two in Sirik, with explosions also heard in Qeshm Island.
