New Hampshire has launched a pointed advertising campaign in New York City, urging business owners to relocate north in the wake of socialist Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral victory.

The ads, spearheaded by Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s administration, frame the Granite State as a haven for entrepreneurs wary of higher taxes and expanded regulation under Mamdani’s agenda.

“Live from New York — it’s New Hampshire!” Ayotte wrote on social media. “We have a message for NYC businesses looking to flee Mayor Mamdani’s higher taxes: Come to the Granite State!”

Mamdani’s platform includes a rent freeze for more than two million tenants in rent‑stabilized apartments, the construction of 200,000 affordable homes, and the creation of city‑owned grocery stores to stabilize food prices. He has also pledged fare‑free city buses, a program pegged at about $700 million per year, alongside universal childcare for children up to age five.

Analysts estimate his proposals could cost at least $10 billion annually, generated mostly from higher taxes on corporations and the wealthiest New Yorkers. Critics warn that the scale of spending could strain the city’s budget and drive businesses or high‑income residents to leave the Big Apple.
