King Mohammed VI of Morocco has accepted an invitation from President Donald Trump to become a founding member of the US-led Gaza Board of Peace, Morocco’s foreign ministry announced on Monday.

“Morocco welcomes the second phase of Trump’s comprehensive peace plan, as well as the official creation of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, which will serve as a temporary transitional body,” the ministry stated.

Earlier on Sunday, the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin had received an invitation to join the Board of Peace, and that Moscow was reviewing the proposal, expressing hope for future contacts with Washington regarding it.
