Mother of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew recounts ICE encounter
The mother of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s nephew on Friday said she was “heartbroken” by her experience after being detained earlier this month by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Bruna Ferreira was detained by federal immigration authorities last month despite her status as a legal resident under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
“It doesn’t make sense. I’m trying to understand and have faith that there’s some logical explanation behind any of this, but there isn’t. I’m not the first,” she said during a Friday appearance on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.”
