ESPN shakes up baseball broadcast booth, boots analyst David Cone

Veteran baseball analyst and longtime pitcher David Cone is no longer with ESPN.
Cone, according to multiple reports, did not have his contract renewed as the Worldwide Leader is undergoing a broader shakeup of its Major League Baseball coverage ahead of the 2026 season.
The 1994 American League Cy Young winner’s run at ESPN ends after joining the network in 2022 as part of its “Sunday Night Baseball” announcing team.
Front Office Sports reported on Friday that Cone, who will continue working on YES Network for Yankees games, was a casualty of ESPN trading the rights to MLB’s “Sunday Night Baseball” to NBC for a package of games that will take place midweek.
