Delaware police identify suspect in murder of state trooper

A 44-year-old man who was last known to live in Wilmington has been identified as the man police believe killed a Delaware State Police Trooper at the Wilmington DMV Tuesday.
Delaware State Police said Rahman Rose entered the DMV as a customer at around 2 p.m. on December 23, 2025, and approached Corporal Grade One Matthew “Ty” Snook from behind, shooting him with a handgun.
Police said after Snook was shot, the trooper shoved a DMV employee out of the way and told them to run as Rose continued shooting at Snook.
Police said Rose allowed customers to leave the building, but began firing as law enforcement responded to the scene.
