US-Iran deal 'expected in the next 24 hours': Pakistani PM

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif touted finalization of a deal between the U.S. and Iran was “likely expected in the next 24 hours” in a social media post on Saturday. He said “technical level talks” would begin next week if the deal is signed this weekend.
Despite the optimism for getting a deal done, the U.S. did shoot down several Iranian attack drones in the Strait of Hormuz early Saturday. The drones, apparently targeting commercial ships, elicited a response from President Trump saying it was “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.”
Iran announced on Saturday that the funeral for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would take place on July 4. Khamenei was killed in a strike on the first day of the war with Iran on Feb. 28.
