It’s a big day for one of Cleveland’s most beloved football stars, as Bernie Kosar is expected to receive a liver transplant this morning. Kosar told the FOX 8 I-Team that the life-saving transplant was supposed to take place at 5 a.m. on Monday.

In an early morning post to social media, Kosar wrote: “It might not be Victory Monday on the field, but it is a Victory Monday for me at UH as I head into surgery today. I can’t thank you all enough for the love and support — it truly means everything. Stay tuned for more updates!”

The post included a video of Kosar sitting on the side of a hospital bed, where he said he was “headed on down right now to get that liver transplant.” CLICK HERE to watch his latest video message.
