The director of content for the University of Alabama’s official NIL entity has been arrested as part of a human trafficking operation.

Robert Aaron Suttles, a former sportswriter who wrote for The Tuscaloosa News and The Athletic, was one of 15 people arrested in Shelby County on Thursday.

Court records cited by WBRC News show that Suttles — who leads the content efforts for Yea Alabama — was charged with soliciting prostitution, and he allegedly paid $100 to engage in sexual activity.

Suttles has since been released from Shelby County Jail on $1,000 bond.

The university told WBRC that Suttles is not a school employee, while Yea Alabama issued a statement to AL.com.

“The individual is suspended and is not performing any work for us,” Yea Alabama said. “The matter involves personal conduct unconnected to any YeaAlabama business. A legal proceeding is pending and our internal review is ongoing, so we have no further comment.”
