The South Carolina Republican suddenly passed away over the weekend at 71 years old due to an aortic dissection brought on by arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
While Graham did not serve on either committee drafting the bill, he frequently weighed in on the broader crypto debate through his leadership role on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The CLARITY Act, formally known as the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act of 2025, aims to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets by clarifying which federal agencies oversee different types of crypto assets and market participants.
It has faced hurdles in the Senate and has a narrow window to pass before the August 7th recess.
