President Donald Trump is set to deliver a prime-time address on Thursday evening focusing on voting machines and what the administration calls “free and fair elections.”
Following Trump’s promise of “a very big announcement,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that the president’s address will focus on free and fair elections.
Reports indicate that the speech comes after the president reviewed reexamined government records and intelligence files concerning potential vulnerabilities in the nation’s voting infrastructure.
While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Vice President JD Vance emphasized the administration is doing a lot for the American people.
“Would you encourage him to steer clear of those unfounded claims that he is actually the true victor of the 2020 elections?” CNN‘s Manu Raju pressed the vice president while on Capitol Hill.
“I love these questions, the unfounded claims,” Vance remarked. “You’re basically. Assuming an answer in the very question that you ask, Manu, what I, what I’d say is we can do a lot. We can walk and chew gum at the same time. We’re doing so many things. We got the one big beautiful bill passed that cut taxes on Social Security, cut taxes on tips, cut taxes on overtime, delivered thousands of additional dollars into the pockets of the average American family. We’re very proud of that.”
The president is slated to deliver his address from the White House at 9:00 PM Eastern, 6:00 PM Pacific.
