MAGA celebrates John Bolton's home being raided: 'How does it feel?'
A number of prominent supporters of Donald Trump's Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement have celebrated on social media after the FBI raided the home of John Bolton on Friday morning.
Newsweek contacted Bolton for comment on Friday via emails sent to the John Bolton PAC, which he founded.
Why It MattersBolton, a Republican, served in Trump's first administration as National Security Advisor but has since become a trenchant critic of his former boss. The Trump administration insists it is seeking to root out illegal behavior wherever it is found, though critics have suggested the raid was politically motivated.
What To KnowAccording to the Associated Press, the Maryland home of Bolton was targeted as part of an ongoing investigation into the handling of classified documents.
CNN's Kristen Holmes said the raid was conducted in response to information disclosed in Bolton's 2020 memoir 'The Room Where It Happened.' Bolton has not been charged, and his legal team has yet to comment publicly on the search.

Responding to the Bolton raid on Newsmax, Trump loyalist House Representative John McGuire said: "I'm glad they're going after him."
Dinesh D'Souza, a conservative filmmaker and podcaster, quoted Bolton's response to the FBI's 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago as part of his response on X. He said: "John Bolton was really enthusiastic about the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. 'No one is above the law.'
"I wonder if he feels the same way about today's FBI raid on his house."

Eric Daugherty, a prominent Florida-based Trump supporter, shared a Fox News video about the Bolton raid on X, adding: "Yes. We did, indeed, vote for this."
In August 2022, the FBI raided then former president Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to recover hundreds of classified documents.
Trump was subsequently charged and pleaded not guilty to a number of charges, though these were dismissed by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon in July 2024. The cases against co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira were terminated after Trump's second presidential inauguration in January 2025.

Speaking to reporters about the raid, President Trump said: "I know nothing about it. I just saw it this morning."
House Intelligence Chair Rick Crawford, a Republican, on X said: "I am monitoring this situation closely. While all accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, the news of this situation is incredibly troubling. Nobody is above the law. I thank FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pamela Bondi for their professionalism in ensuring this case moves forward to conclusion."
On X, Democratic Party strategist Mike Bellis said: "No love for John Bolton. But the FBI is raiding him for criticizing Trump's foreign policy. The government's being weaponized to silence opposition—and it's only going to get worse."
Journalist and commentator Keith Olbermann posted on X: "I don't give a rat's ass for John Bolton but this is a political act, not an investigatorial one."
