European Parliament member Dominik Tarczynski told Newsmax on Thursday that Poland's border policies have helped make it the safest country in Europe.

On "Finnerty," Tarczynski said Poland refused to accept immigrants beginning in 2015 and rejected efforts by other countries to send them there.

"We said no, zero, not even one will come to Poland," Tarczynski said. "We did not let them in."

He said leaders in Germany and elsewhere initially supported bringing immigrants into Europe for cheap labor, but later tried to shift the burden to Poland.

Tarczynski said Poland built a border wall after people tried to enter the country illegally, saying President Donald Trump inspired the move.

"We spent $2.5 billion on the wall," he said. "And I must say, Mr. Trump was a great inspiration."

He said the wall did not stop all attempted crossings, asserting that people tried to destroy it and cross anyway.

Tarczynski said Poland changed its laws after an immigrant killed a Polish soldier, allowing soldiers at the border to use live ammunition.

"Our soldiers, they have a right to shoot," he said. "We do not talk. We do. We take action."

Tarczynski said Poland's approach has produced clear results.

"The result is my motto: Be like Poland," he said.

He described Poland as the safest and cleanest place in Europe, with the lowest unemployment rate and one of the strongest rates of economic growth since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tarczynski said he's proud of Poland's transformation after decades of communism, calling the country a pearl of Europe and the last stronghold of normality in Europe.

Tarczynski said other European countries, including France and Britain, should look to Poland's example.

"Be brave," he said. "Look at Poland and be like Poland."
