Trump Defends Record, Says Democrats Have Turned Communist
In a series of social media posts, Trump argued that his repeated electoral victories have come despite relentless negative coverage, saying he has received little recognition for what he views as an unprecedented political record.
"I had to run against not one Candidate, but two, Sleepy Joe and Kamala, which has never happened before, against almost 100% negative press and Fake News," Trump wrote.
"All I do is WIN, often against all odds."
Trump said that even after his election victory, critics immediately resumed attacking him rather than acknowledging the outcome.
"There's no, 'Gee, he won, he did a great job!'" Trump wrote.
"There's no saying, 'Maybe we were wrong about him, the people were right' or, maybe, 'Congratulations, we wish you Great Success for our Country!' No, but after I won the Election FOR THE THIRD TIME, the same people start immediately, all over again."
He said media outlets should instead concede defeat, writing, "Isn't it time they say, 'We give up, we can't beat him.'"
"TRUMP IS THE BEST POLITICAL ATHLETE OF ALL TIME! CONGRATULATIONS, MR. PRESIDENT... DO A GREAT JOB, SIR, RUNNING OUR COUNTRY. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!'" Trump continued.
Trump also argued that his victory demonstrated the public's rejection of the mainstream press.
"With only bad Press and Fake News, I won the Presidential Election IN A LANDSLIDE," he wrote. "Therefore, the Media has NO CREDIBILITY! If it did, that Historic Win would not have been possible."
Alongside his criticism of the media, Trump warned that Democrats have abandoned mainstream political positions in favor of a more radical ideology.
"I would often say America will never be a Socialist Country, and I was 100% correct," Trump wrote.
"The Dumocrats skipped Socialism, and went all the way down to Communism. AMERICA WILL NEVER BE A COMMUNIST COUNTRY!"
He expanded on that theme in a separate post, claiming, "The Radical Left Lunatics, often referred to as Dumocrats, have lost control of their Party."
Trump added that he hoped Democrats would "fight back, and not let this sick, Communist ideology, take over America!"
Trump closed by again urging the media to abandon what he called years of unfair coverage, saying he wanted news organizations to "gain the Respect which they have so sadly lost, and help, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
