President Donald Trump touted what he called his highest approval ratings ever on Monday, arguing Americans are rewarding his administration's success in ensuring that Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon.
In an early Truth Social post, Trump celebrated the polling while pointing to one of his administration's signature foreign policy objectives.
"Highest Poll Numbers Ever," Trump wrote. "Even Higher than Election Day, November 5th. This despite the fact that, IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!"
While Trump did not specify which poll he was referencing, one likely possibility is the Daily Mail/J.L. Partners survey released last week, which found that his approval rating climbed four points to 47% — his highest mark of the year in that poll.
The survey also found 82% of Republicans approve of Trump's job performance.
The president also could have been referring to a McLaughlin & Associates poll conducted June 17-23 among 1,000 likely midterm voters that found Trump's job approval at 50%.
According to the Daily Mail, Trump's approval rating held steady at 43% for the previous three months before rising after the Iran agreement was announced and energy prices stabilized.
Trump has repeatedly argued that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon is a cornerstone of his foreign policy, and Monday's post underscored that message.
The administration has maintained maximum pressure on Tehran while insisting Iran will never be allowed to develop a nuclear arsenal.
Although it remains unclear which survey Trump was referencing, the Daily Mail poll represented one of his strongest approval ratings this year and followed a series of foreign policy victories the White House has highlighted in recent weeks.
Polling on the president's overall job approval continues to vary by organization and methodology, with some national surveys showing lower approval ratings than the Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll and the McLaughlin & Associates poll.
Monday's post continues Trump's practice of using Truth Social to spotlight favorable polling and argue that voters support his administration's agenda as Republicans seek to build momentum ahead of the November midterm elections.
