The former director of the Anti-Defamation League is calling out "tone-deaf" Democrats for opposing Israel and President Donald Trump's "decisive action" to strike three Iranian nuclear sites in order to bring peace to the Middle East.
"Why are the Democrats so tone deaf?" ADL Director Emeritus Abraham Foxman wrote in an X post Sunday night. "Iran is a sworn enemy not only of Israel but of America and many of America's allies."
Supporting American and Israeli efforts against Iran having a nuclear weapon should be a "no brainer," according to Foxman, a Holocaust survivor who served as the ADL national director from 1987-2015.
"Iran has killed thousands of Americans in last 40 years, across the globe, threatened our allies and tried to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. and President Trump," his X post continued.
"It should be a no brainer to support President Trump's action of yesterday."
While the ADL has historically opposed leftist Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction (BDS) movements against Israel, it known as being left leaning on other causes, making the criticism of Democrats and support for Trump noteworthy.
"Every Democratic President and presidential contender in recent cycles has pledged not to permit Iran to acquire nuclear weapons," Foxman wrote in an X post Saturday night, praising Trump's decision to launch strikes on Iran's nuclear program and denouncing congressional objections to Trump's bold action for not seeking approval of Democrats.
"And Obama's 2011 actions in Libya, Clinton's missile strikes on Afghanistan and Sudan and Bush's post 9/11 drone strikes, had no congressional authorization!
Democrat have long vowed to remain in lockstep to oppose many Trump and Republican agenda items in congressional votes, including what Trump hoped would be a vote on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in the Senate this week.
