President Donald Trump reveled in Sunday night's UFC event at the White House, calling it "one of the most exciting days in the history of our fabled" executive mansion.

In a Truth Social post early Monday morning, Trump praised the unprecedented mixed martial arts showcase on the South Lawn, saying the event exceeded expectations despite forecasts of severe weather and delivered a memorable celebration of athleticism and American spectacle.

"The UFC at the White House last night was incredible," Trump wrote. "The weather was scheduled to be horrendous, and it turned out to be PERFECT!"

He singled out fighters Bo Nickal, Justin Gaethje, Ciryl Gane, Sean O’Malley, Josh Hokit, Mauricio Ruffy and Diego Lopes for standout performances and congratulated UFC President Dana White for staging the historic card.

The event drew more than 4,000 invited guests, including Vice President JD Vance, members of Trump's Cabinet, Republican lawmakers, military personnel, athletes and business leaders. It ended after midnight.

Trump, who turned 80 on Sunday, watched cageside alongside first lady Melania Trump and White as the fights unfolded just steps from the White House residence.

The evening featured a Navy Blue Angels flyover, fireworks over Washington, and repeated chants of "USA! USA!" from the crowd.

The White House grounds were transformed into a temporary UFC arena beneath a massive lighting structure known as "The Claw."

The headline result came in the main event, where Gaethje captured the UFC lightweight championship with a fourth-round stoppage victory over previously unbeaten Ilia Topuria.

Gaethje battered the champion throughout the fight before Topuria's corner halted the contest after the fourth round, handing him the first loss of his professional career.

In the co-main event, France's Gane claimed the interim heavyweight title with a knockout victory over former champion Alex Pereira.

Earlier winners included Lopes, Nickal, Ruffy, Hokit and O’Malley.

While some mainstream media outlets characterized the spectacle as unconventional or controversial, the president's supporters viewed it as another example of Trump's ability to merge sports, entertainment and patriotism on a grand stage.

The president has long maintained close ties with UFC and White, and he frequently attends major fight cards.

For Trump, the verdict was simple.

"The White House has never looked more beautiful," he wrote. "The setting was unsurpassed."
